My Sisters’ Place is many things to the hundred plus women who walk through its doors each day. It is safety. It is service. It is sisterhood.
While women who access My Sisters’ Place range in age from 16 – 70 and come from diverse backgrounds, they do share some common barriers to well-being. Most have experienced abuse, trauma and isolation. Many are homeless, are at risk of homelessness, or are street involved. More than 80% have mental health issues. Their lives are complicated by poverty, health concerns and addiction.
All are striving to gain control of their lives and realize their potential.

Connect with My Sisters’ Place:
We seek to reduce homelessness for women and to support women to find and keep safe, affordable housing. At the same time, we connect women with CMHA Middlesex mental health services such as Case Management, Clinical Services, and Community Programs.
At My Sisters’ Place, we see the complexity and the intersection of these challenges. My Sisters’ Place addresses the multiple challenges that women face while seeking to regain stability and independence. Whatever hardship or combination of challenges a woman may face we strive to meet each woman’s unique needs – surrounded by supportive, compassionate staff, volunteers and peers. Women are welcome as they are, and encouraged to set goals and select from a wide range of activities and programs that build confidence and capacity to reach their goals.
We prioritize safety and prevention, and work hard to promote access to the right services and support.
