April 1, 2017 to April 2, 2017
509 Clarence Street
The Austen Berlet Campout for Mental Health is hosted annually at Victoria Park in memory of Austen Berlet, an intelligent, devoted, and loving brother of Phi Gamma Delta with a bright future. Austen took his own life in 2009 as a result of his bipolar disorder. We hold this event in his memory to generate awareness about mental illness for the Western and London communities, and to raise money for the Canadian Mental Health Association Middlesex.
ABCampout 2017 will take place on April 1st-2nd starting at 2pm, at Victoria Park, London. Everyone is welcome to bring a tent and campout with us overnight, or stop by anytime during the event. It is free and open to the public. There will be fantastic local speakers/performers, great food, raffles, and amazing conversation with Western students and London residents alike. There’s also a Mental Health Walk and flag football tournament during the event.
The money raised through this event helps to fund CMHA’s Crisis Support Centre services and counselling at Western University. As a vital part of the community we ask London businesses if a small donation could be made toward the CMHA using the link provided so that we may better support our community.
Last year, we raised more than $13,000 for the CMHA, and this year, our hopes are even higher!
