Fall 2017 Mood Walks!
Mood Walks is a province-wide initiative that promotes physical activity in nature, or “green exercise,” as a way to improve both physical and mental health. Currently we host our Mood Walks every Tuesday from 11 am-12 pm. Our new partnership with the Thames Talbot Land Trust, funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, allowed us to organize four bus trips throughout the fall so that we can explore beautiful natural areas outside of the city limits.
This partnership offers environmental stewardship opportunities and guided hikes to participants. It has the dual purpose of improving ecological health of natural areas and boosting the well-being of participants. The stewardship activities will get people actively engaged in conservation of natural areas and subsequently improve the habitat for native wildlife.
Participants will be asked to gather at 9:30 am and the bus will return by 1:30 pm. Dates and locations are as follows:
- September 19th – Wardsville Woods, Wardsville Ontario
- October 3rd – Hawk Cliff Woods, Port Stanley Ontario
- October 17th – Five Points Forest, Between Putnam and Ingersol Ontario
- November 7th – Joany’s Woods, Ausable River Valley (close to Grand Bend Ontario)
If you are interested in this opportunity, please call Michelle at (519) 432-1607 x 418 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register. More information on meet-up location will be provided upon registration.
