About the program:
The Bereavement Support program focuses on supporting individuals affected by suicide death. Support is available in person or by telephone. We offer one-on-one counselling, support groups, workshops and education to those coping with the effects of this traumatic loss. Information is also available for those supporting someone who is grieving a suicide death.
Our Bereavement Support Program includes:
- Professionally Facilitated Survivors of Suicide, 8-Week Group: Offered 2 to 3 times per year. Group sessions cover guilt, shame, anger, stigma, depression, denial and helplessness.
- Educational Community Presentations & Suicide Bereavement Education: Educational sessions & workshops on suicide bereavement for a wide variety of audiences.
- Peer Support/Bereavement Support Group: This group offers on-going peer support in a monthly group facilitated by peers.
- Annual World Suicide Prevention Day activities: To support suicide prevention, remember a lost loved one and reach out to survivors of suicide.
